Tried the FINAL FANTASY XV demo ‘JUDGMENT DISC’! What I felt was anticipation for a magnificent world view!

It's gradually becoming more like a game blog, haha.

This time, the rumoredFINAL FANTASY XVI tried playing the demo version JUDGMENT DISC. Somehow, there are bugs that allow you to go to the 'outside world,' which you normally can't access in the demo, so it seems to be generating a lot of excitement even before its release, haha.

In the past, not just with FINAL FANTASY, we often played by exploiting bugs, but now, since games can be updated online, bugs are being fixed rapidly.

It's become such a convenient world.

Anyway, for those who just want to play a somewhat mainstream game normally, I'd like to review my impressions after playing it casually.

Probably, if you just have a PS4, you can basically play the demo version, so I think those who read this review are primarily people who are going to buy a PS4, and I hope this can be a reference for them.

So, first, the trailer.

FINAL FANTASY XV is open world. But, with restricted freedom.

For a long time now,FINAL FANTASY XVhas been revealed with many descriptions suggesting an open world with a 'journey' theme.

However, from my experience playing it, if you're imagining the freedom of an open world like foreign products, it might be a bit different.

First, I don't know how it is in the full version, but the car could only drive on roads and only in the forward direction.

If you try to go to the opposite lane, it seems you're pushed back to the original lane by an invisible force. If you've already experienced open world games like Grand Theft Auto, you'll be confused at first. It's like, 'The car is moving on its own, is it broken?'

But it's not actually broken; it just seemed that the movement was restricted.

Also, as per the pre-release information, cars cannot drive off-road.

Well, that makes sense, I guess. Indeed, if you go off-road, you'd be able to ram monsters with your car, and that would make it a different game.

Certainly, if you think about it carefully, if they reproduced the freedom like Grand Theft Auto,FINAL FANTASY XVits essence might be completely destroyed.

Therefore, compared to Grand Theft Auto and other open-world titles, in terms of freedom, it felt like a somewhat restricted freedom.

Is it like, once you clear it, the next map opens, and you can basically travel everywhere in the world before the final boss?

Also, a sea town appeared, but I couldn't particularly swim or go into the water.

Combat is basically holding down a button. The timing of pressing the button and compatibility are important.

When I tried the tutorial, I had the impression that there was a lot to learn, but once you get used to it, it's probably fine.

Since you can basically move and fight intuitively, I didn't particularly have the impression that it would be difficult to get used to.

The protagonist Noct can throw his sword and warp to where it's stuck, so fighting while using this warp felt new. Like throwing a sword far away and hanging from a utility pole.

Also, if you don't aim and use magic, it can even damage your allies, which I think is realistic and good.

Also, the effects of magic are suddenly amazing from the beginning. Is it that strong? With such magic, ice forms all over the place or things burn wildly.

I wonder what would happen if I kept using strong magic like this.

Other elements like cooperation with allies, switching between multiple weapons to fight, and fighting while considering compatibility with enemies, which are classic FINAL FANTASY traits, are also evident in XV.

There's a counter by holding down the guard button, but in the midst of a chaotic battle with allies and enemies mixed together, you don't know when the opponent will attack, so I guess you just have to press it early by instinct.

The big monsters are truly big. The sense of scale really comes through.

There was a huge bird. But it's enormous. The way its sheer size is fully conveyed is good.

The monsters seen in the trailer also convey an incredibly huge feeling, giving the impression that you shouldn't fight them.

Speaking of size, the cityscapes are also like that.

Looking at the cityscape where the protagonist originally lived from above, I could really feel the immense size and sense of scale.

The impression of 'it's so big' to this extent was something I hadn't really experienced in other games, so it was fresh.

When I checked the trailer, methods of fighting by summoning giants like Titan or god-like beings called Summoned Beasts also conveyed an incredibly huge feeling.

Speaking of which, it was the same when I played FINAL FANTASY XIII, but I got the impression that the smallness of humans was remarkably prominent.

This sense of scale must be FINAL FANTASY.FINAL FANTASY XVIt feels like the 'sense of scale' aspect is even more greatly brought out.

And then, the final video after experiencing everything.

It was a powerful video that seemed to imply that the grand adventures and story drama from now on would be of the highest quality. How should I put it, I think that is precisely the essence of FINAL FANTASY.

Overall, the FINAL FANTASY XV JUDGMENT DISC demo.

FINAL FANTASY, as expected, its worldview is indeed known throughout the world, and I believe it was an image that thoroughly pursued the fun and freedom inherent to FINAL FANTASY.

If, from the term 'open world', you're expecting the complete freedom and enjoyment found in games like Grand Theft Auto, then I think you might need to adjust your expectations.

Rather, if you want to enjoy the story, characters, gameplay, and world purely as FINAL FANTASY, I think it will become an overwhelmingly excellent work.

It is said that anime and movies are also being produced simultaneously.

FINAL FANTASY XVI believe it will become 'content not limited to games' that conveys its worldview from various angles and entertains people as entertainment.

CertainlyFINAL FANTASY XVWhile it is a game, I believe it will become a new form of entertainment with the capacity to convey its worldview through diverse forms.

A magnificent world created through diverse forms.

Considering that, it's a challenging and exciting endeavor.

FINAL FANTASY VII also became a movie or anime.

A work that took almost 10 years to develop.

For some reason, they seem to have a very strong obsession with 'rice balls,' but personally, I don't care about such things and think there are more important things to do. Lol.

However, I understand the spirit of craftsmanship. Each person has their own philosophy and thoughts about what they are particular about, and that's precisely why they can express a powerful worldview.

But I digress,FINAL FANTASY XVPersonally, from a comprehensive perspective of enjoying the story, characters, and the grand world, my expectations are high.

When you buy a PS4, be sure to experience it for yourself.
