How can one live freely according to their instincts?
I was trying to write something difficult, but I stopped. Difficult things thought about late at night often turn out not to be so difficult when considered during the day, don't they? I've heard that 20th-century inventions were born at night, but I also hear that 21st-century ones are born in the morning. If that's the case, is the morning after an all-nighter truly night or morning? The answer is probably night, without even needing to think about it.
Speaking of which, we talked about what it means to live by instinct. Many people around me, including those I've been with and KAGURA's people, seem to have fundamentally decided their lives by instinct. That's probably why such a topic comes up, but indeed, when someone pointed it out, I had never thought about it. But when I do think about it, it's surprisingly interesting.
In our unproductive conversation this time, living by instinct was premised on essentially living freely, doing what you want to do. Especially using work to achieve what you want to do, as if to pursue your passions. Utilizing work to launch a business and fulfill your own lifestyle. This is just for this particular instance.
When considering "what is necessary" to live such a life, one thing is the ability to see things linearly. People tend to have existing concepts and fixed ideas in their minds, so even when trying to look at something directly, they end up thinking about unnecessary things. For example, let's say you want to become independent as a baker. In that case, you should start by researching what's needed to become a baker, but instead, you might think, "Can I quit my current job?" or "I need to save money." What's important here is not saving money or thinking about quitting your job, but first "researching how to become one and starting to work on it concretely." Once you know how to become one, you'll see how much money you need and when you should quit your job. If you can see the goal, the fastest way is to start walking the path towards it concretely, but for some reason, people flounder in the preliminary stages. And surprisingly, things tend to fall into place once you start them concretely.
See things linearly, not indirectly. If there's something you want to be or achieve, simply research what to do and start taking steps. This is the answer to simple goal achievement. People can't reach their goals simply because they don't think about things simply and can't start taking concrete steps. What's needed is a direct reply to the idea: "I want to do this!" "So, what should I do?"
So, what we've discussed so far is the minimum requirement.
What's even more important is to keep thinking. From philosophical questions like "Who am I?" or "Why am I alive?" to productive content like "What's always interesting or new?", constantly seek something greedily and keep thinking. Creating new things or trying to find answers to something requires immense effort, and if you let your guard down, you might give up, thinking, "That's enough." But you must think. Keep thinking thoroughly. Constantly think about what's interesting and uninteresting in the world, what's cool and uncool. By developing the ability to think, when you decide to start a business, you'll be able to arrive at answers from multiple directions. Keeping your mind active like this every day is one important thing.
There's still something important. Don't be afraid. Leave fear behind, whether it's failure, success, losing, or winning. By constantly challenging yourself with new things, experience accumulates within your body, and you'll start to understand how to act even in new endeavors or situations you've never seen before. If you don't act or challenge yourself, you won't accumulate experience. You'll forever remain in a state of zero experience when facing new things. That's why it's scary. Things you haven't seen, things you haven't done, are scary. People who are afraid of various things around them are usually those who haven't plunged into fear or risk themselves. But if you keep stepping in without fear, you'll understand what's what. As you eliminate one unknown after another, interestingly, your fear of the world disappears. Knowledge is power, ignorance is weakness. As knowledge and experience accumulate and become ingrained in your body, fear will gradually disappear.
And one more thing. Don't think of accumulating skills and knowledge within yourself as a hassle. Don't give up; accumulate and build up your own abilities. Don't be lazy about training yourself. However, only the knowledge and experience necessary to reach your goal. For example, if you think it's the age of IT, don't just hand everything over to IT specialists and be done with it; accumulate that knowledge within yourself as well. Even if you yourself proclaim that it's the age of IT, if you lack knowledge, you won't know where to start your attack. Because it is undoubtedly you who decides the business ideas and direction. If you outsource and entrust even the fundamentals, good ideas will never be born.
Furthermore, skills and knowledge also serve as a last resort. For example, if you start a business and it fails. If you have accumulated skills and know-how, and you know that you can manage by diligently doing them, you can hold on as a last resort. You'll have room to maneuver. While there are certainly people who can live freely without doing this, most of them disappear into fleeting freedom. If there's nothing innovative accumulated, when it collapses, it collapses completely. To the point of being unable to recover. Stepping in with your back against the wall unleashes overwhelmingly powerful force, but even with a last resort, you can always put yourself in a back-against-the-wall situation depending on your will.
Think simply, keep thinking constantly, and keep accumulating knowledge and skills.
Three points have been raised now, but even rereading them, I feel they express the essence so well that I wonder if anything else beyond these three is instinctively necessary to live freely. However, what they have in common is that you probably can't be free unless you're a hard worker. To work hard means to make the effort to gather what's necessary for your goal, the effort to keep thinking, the effort to keep absorbing. If you're not someone who can unconsciously enjoy this process, it might be difficult to live doing what you love. In the end, it might just mean: "Work hard! Live every day desperately!"
No matter how much you talk about freedom, living instinctively as you please, it requires extraordinary effort and hard work. If you can't make this effort, you probably won't be able to, and if you can, you will. There are also people who aim for freedom, living instinctively from a mindset of escape, like "live freely with ease" or "break free from a restrictive society," but in the end, it still comes down to working desperately hard. On the other hand, if you attack, you get back only what you put in. So, you'd want to keep attacking, right? That, I believe, leads to freedom and living instinctively. I realized I had been talking until morning while drinking cheap wine bought at a convenience store.
