Hello. This is Kamiyama.

You know, there are times when you understand something but can't act on it, right?
I've experienced that many times too.
Each time, I gritted my teeth, spurred myself on, and took action.
Then, at some point, taking action became second nature.
How I broke through the state of being unable to act, today I'll talk about that secret.

First, there's a reason why you can't act.
It's important to find out what the cause of your inability to act is.
If you don't know the cause, there's no way to deal with it.

There are several patterns for the causes of being unable to act.

For example, the pattern of being too busy to act.
Being too busy to do what needs to be done is the most common pattern, isn't it?

The next most common pattern might be the case where you just can't get moving, or you lack motivation.
Are you overwhelmed by daily life, or does your interest shift to something else when you try to do something?

Another pattern is intending to act but not actually doing it.
Even though you're doing various things every day, you're not making any progress.
There are cases like this too.

And then, there's the case of fearing some kind of risk.
This is especially common when starting a business or a side job.
When you become too cautious and can't move forward even a single step.

Broadly speaking, cases where you can't act can be divided into the above four types.
So, how exactly should these be resolved?
I will explain by dividing them according to the causes of your inability to act.

The pattern of being too busy to act.

I fell into this case.
So, I'll talk about it from a place that's quite based on my own experience.

You have the will to do something, but you're too busy to take even a single step.
You want to take an interest in something else and work on it, but you can't.
I think this case is very common in today's society.

How I solved it was by increasing productivity and setting priorities.
First, because my work was too busy, I thought about how to do my current job in a shorter amount of time.
Then, I cut unnecessary tasks and kept only the necessary ones.
Surprisingly, there were many tasks that didn't need to be done, or that didn't generate profit even if done.
I strictly separated and sorted them.

Since I was busy with various other things, I decided what I needed to do every morning.
Every morning, I would email myself the tasks I needed to do for the day.
However, I think most working adults probably do this.

I didn't just send tasks; I also included time to spend on 'action' in the tasks.
It's like Google's 20% rule.
The rule is that 20% of your work time can be spent on things you like.
I incorporated this rule into my tasks and allocated time for the actions I needed to take.

Strangely enough, if you include time for action in your tasks from the beginning, you can do it.
Surely, I must have had some leeway to take action.
Despite that, the reason I couldn't do it might have been a lack of motivation for 'action'.
It's strange, because if you just incorporate it into your tasks, you can surprisingly take action.

The reason for not being able to take action due to busyness was solved in this way.
First, increase work productivity and cut unnecessary tasks.
Manage necessary tasks and incorporate the 20% rule into your tasks.
By managing my time in this way, I carved out time and took action.

Once you carve out time, action tends to become a habit.
Since then, I've been able to properly accomplish what I should do and what I want to do.
This is also because I focused on task management and improving productivity.
If you're busy with work, please give it a try.

The pattern of vaguely not being able to take action.

It often happens.
At times like these, time passes without really knowing why.
It's not that you can't act, but rather that you can't get started.
Even I sometimes end up doing other things when I intend to write a blog or do work.
I really think it's a waste of time.

It's difficult to escape from this type of inability to act.
However, there are methods, so please try them once.

First, when you vaguely can't take action, you can often act all at once once you start.
With work and studying, it often takes a long time to get started, doesn't it?
And once you get started, you surprisingly finish it all at once.
The problem is wanting to get started but ending up doing something else.

There are two solutions for such times.

The first is to move to a public place, such as a cafe or store.
Don't just go for tea, but move with a purpose.
Like, finish this while you're at the cafe.
Or, don't leave the cafe until this is finished.
Decide what you're going to do, and then go to the cafe.

Then, since there's nothing else to distract you, you can finish it all at once.
The moderate tension of having people around also works well.
Surprisingly, when people are around, concentration tends to increase.
It's even better if you go to a cafe with a good atmosphere.
Because the atmosphere of the place can further boost your potential.

The second solution is to set a deadline and not do it until the last minute.
Surprisingly, people can't act because they have time.
When there's no time and you're pressed for it, you can act decisively.

Also, I will share the goal of 'I will do this by this time' with someone.

It could be a companion you act with, or if you're alone, it could be your parents.
It might be considered a bit annoying, but SNS or blogs are also fine.
By declaring it to someone and committing to it, your mindset will be determined.
By having a time limit on what to do by this point, people can take action.

Moreover, the more you rush, the faster it gets done.
In fact, if you do it right before the deadline, doesn't it often get done quickly?
And when there's still time left until the deadline, it tends to take an unusually long time.
Surprisingly, by doing it right before, you might be using your time efficiently.
After that, as a result of your actions, ensuring quality is all that's needed.

In my case, I solve the phenomenon of not being able to act with these two things.
Setting deadlines and deciding on locations is surprisingly effective.
Smoothly solves the 'inability to act' phenomenon.

A pattern where you think you're acting, but surprisingly, you're not.

You feel like you've taken various actions, but not much has progressed.
Don't you ever have moments like this?

This is a pattern where actual actions are not accompanied by results.
It's not that you can't act, but rather a pattern where you can act but it doesn't lead to results.
Do you understand what exactly is going wrong to cause this?

The answer lies in not being able to organize the immediate goals.
Basically, things reach their destination if you clear goals one by one.
You just need to properly organize the path to achieving your goals.

Like starting a business or a side job, what should I do first?
You just need to organize what needs to be done, step by step.

First, I have to do this.
These kinds of goals also need to be cleared.
Let's organize and think about what goals to clear, one by one.
First, create a roadmap to the destination.

Once the roadmap is made, all that's left is to execute it one by one.
If you steadily clear the immediate goals, you will eventually reach the finish line.
The reason why actions don't lead to results is because you're going back and forth.
It's because there's a lot of waste, like taking one step forward and two steps back.

If you take one step forward, you just need to not retreat.
Without retreating, if you keep moving forward as much as you've advanced, you'll reach the goal.
First, let's organize the route and proceed steadily, one step at a time.

The mindset of clearing immediate goals strongly reminds me of Ichiro.
He reportedly places great importance on achieving immediate goals.
That's exactly right, as the accumulation of each individual goal forms the future.
In any case, to aim for the goal, you need to clear the immediate obstacles.

The pattern of being unable to act due to fear of risk.

This is now probably as common as being too busy to act.
I am very accustomed to the mindset of overcoming risk.

Actually, the inability to act due to fear of risk is simply a complete lack of knowledge.
Things you don't know are scary for anyone, aren't they?
Anything you can't understand is scary.

When meeting someone for the first time, you might be more hesitant than when meeting someone you've met before.
Even though you want to meet someone, you can't take action.
This is because you are afraid without knowing the other person.
Like, 'What if something troublesome happens?' or 'I'll be nervous.'
If you know the other person, that wouldn't happen, would it?

So, what should you do? You just need to study.
What risk is, and why it's a risk.
If you thoroughly understand that risk and learn countermeasures, you can act.
Because there will be nothing to be afraid of.

In fact, when I act, I don't consider risk as risk.
Because I act only after maximizing the probability of success to its limit.
Or I minimize the risk; it's one or the other.

For example, when starting a business or a side job, I reduce costs to the absolute minimum.
I thoroughly investigate how many customers I can acquire.
When I have conviction in either of these, I take action.

Therefore, the businesses I undertake either have a high probability of success or will not fail; they possess one of these characteristics.
If you properly grasp the risks and take maximum countermeasures, there will be no negative consequences at all.

When actually taking action, I don't think of risk as risk.
I consider all risks to be within the scope of what can be dealt with, and then I execute.
In this way, if your understanding of risk increases, you will be able to act.
The reason you can't act is because you don't know about risk.

Summary

Besides these four, there are probably other reasons why one cannot act.
If I think of other reasons, I will add them as they come to mind.

Being unable to act is quite painful, isn't it?
Rather than painful, you feel the time that has passed and deeply regret it.
And you worry about why you didn't act at that time.

Time is very cruel, and once it's gone, it will never come back again.
That's why you need to live while feeling the weight of time, even a little.
If you just idle, people will die in the blink of an eye.
Through action, people find meaning in life and value it.

Meeting people and having new experiences all come from action.
If you cannot act, no experiences or encounters will exist.
While you are doing this, others are steadily moving forward.

I am serious about teaching entrepreneurship and side businesses.
However, many people make various excuses and fail to act.
Being unable to act is the same as wasting your own life.
No changes will occur in your life.

The same goes for entrepreneurship and side businesses.
If you don't act for some reason, you'll just wait for death.
I am not exaggerating this.
I don't know of any cases where people who hesitate to take small actions have achieved something.
In the end, no matter what you learn or how much you research, those who act gain more.

If you still don't act, it's the same as giving up everything.
Being unable to act means you are consuming your life in vain.
Time passing by means your life is passing by.
You should re-evaluate the concepts of time, life, and action.

Is it really okay to stay like this?
Are you satisfied with your current life and way of living?

If you are satisfied, I think it's good to live happily as you are.
I do not deny the happiness that can be gained by not acting.

But if there are still things you want to achieve.
Please don't waste your life.
Please stop letting your precious life pass by meaninglessly.
Even if you take just one step, tens of thousands of paths will open before you.

If you are struggling with not being able to act, please start acting immediately.
Because if you intend to, you should be able to move, even starting with small things.
All results come from the courage to struggle, starting with small things.
