When you fight. Know that nothing can be ‘resolved’ with logic alone.

When you fight. Know that nothing can be ‘resolved’ with logic alone.

Humans have emotions, you see.

For example, when people argue, I think there are times when they try to solve problems logically, saying 'this is like this, so it's like this.' This tendency is particularly strong among men, isn't it?

However, trying to resolve an argument logically is often the least effective way to solve the problem of an argument. This is because if it could be resolved logically, an argument wouldn't have occurred in the first place. An argument happens because some 'emotion' gets involved.

Once an argument starts, it's a conflict of emotions, so logic has no place there. I understand if you try to figure out later why you couldn't discuss it logically before getting emotional, but once it has happened, it's too late.

Furthermore, even if one person wins the argument, the other person will not feel positive emotions towards the one who 'defeated' their feelings. Either way, it's a negative outcome.

The emotions that arise vary, such as frustration or sadness. It's not about what the problem is, or what the correct argument is, in the first place. Unless the emotions themselves are resolved, you cannot move forward. It's fair to say that if you try to resolve the cause of an argument with logic, you are looking at the wrong problem.

Let's carefully consider where the root cause of the emotions that lead to arguments—frustration, hatred, sadness—lies. And let's carefully think about how to restore those emotions to normal. If you do that, you will naturally understand what actions you should take.

Discussing with logic comes after that.

That being said, since arguments happen because you yourself are also emotional, perhaps the first step is to try to bring your own emotions back to normal. Become calm yourself and consider why the other person's emotions are disturbed. The solution lies there.

Truly well-developed individuals understand the importance of communication. To get your ideas across, things will almost certainly not proceed smoothly unless you first get the other person to feel positive emotions.

It's the same in business. For example, let's say there are two plans, one you thought of and one the other person thought of. Even if your plan is more accurate, if you force your way of thinking or methodology, the other person will not cooperate with 100% positive feelings.

To get your ideas and assertions accepted 100%, you first need to manage the other person's emotions. This is also true in daily life. After all, emotions are at the core of human beings. Being aware of emotional control and resolution is the first step to resolving arguments and conflicts.
