Don’t underestimate technology! What are the skills to advance your side business with overwhelming advantage?
Hello. This is Kamiyama.
I got tired of going to tropical countries too much, so I came to the northernmost reaches.
I'm writing this article now from Yukon, Canada's northernmost territory.
It's a town called Whitehorse.
There's a lodge by a lake called Matthew Lake.
It's a place surrounded by snow, like Santa Claus's home.
Indeed, travel is wonderful.
New knowledge and environments help our creativity and imagination soar.
I'll be writing a separate experience report, so please read it if you're interested.

Now, this time, it's about the skills needed to create a side business with an overwhelming advantage.
It's often said that 'skills' are not necessary to create a side business.
The 'skills' I'm referring to here are 'website creation skills'.
These are the skills for creating websites, such as design using Photoshop, HTML, JavaScript, PHP, and so on.
If you don't understand, please try searching on Google once.
Certainly, I also think that skills are not necessary to create a side business.
However, there's something I realized once I myself became able to use these skills.
That is, being able to use these skills 'increases the possibility of achieving success most quickly'.
Currently, no matter what kind of business you create, marketing and customer acquisition using the internet are increasingly gaining value.
Because no matter how you think about it rationally, using the internet allows you to deliver information to an overwhelming majority, more so than marketing through analog methods.
I can assert that the reason why things can only be sold offline is because of a poor ability to build relationships with customers online.
And as long as you're selling something online, if you can efficiently use blogs and websites, you can advance your marketing more advantageously.
So, what's the benefit of acquiring website creation skills? It's that you'll be able to perform quick 'analysis and improvement'.
It's not advantageous because you can freely create websites.
It's advantageous because you can perform quick 'analysis and improvement'.
Please remember these words clearly.
Whether it's a side job or starting a business, what's important for achieving results is quick 'analysis and improvement'.
If you launch a business and succeed on the first try, it's a miracle.
It's extremely rare for websites and blogs to achieve maximum results on the first try.
Often, when outsourcing website creation, most places just 'create and deliver, then it's over,' but there's no way that can produce results.
After all, what you create or launch on the first try is 'wishful thinking'.
Please strongly recognize these words.
No matter how much preliminary research you do, you won't know anything until you launch it.
It might provide some nourishment to get closer to results, though.
However, it's ultimately just imagination.
Often, there are people who show an unusual obsession with the initial release.
That's just needlessly indulging in self-satisfying hobbies and fantasies, wasting time.
You often see people like that, don't you?
Of course, if you had charisma like Steve Jobs, you might still be able to achieve it.
Charisma has the effect of making everything 'right'.
However, most people don't have such charisma, and if they did, they would have achieved billions in success by their teens or mid-twenties.
Let's stop mistaking ourselves for Steve Jobs.
So, how can 'ordinary people' like us increase their chances of success?
The answer is to just launch and test.
Once a business is launched, analyze its results and improve it.
By repeatedly making improvements, you create products and services that capture market needs.
Once you see the elements of success, you can thoroughly build upon them.
What if you over-engineered it in the early stages of an idea?
No matter how much you build, you'll end up repeating revisions and improvements.
As a result, the time and effort you initially invested will be wasted, won't it?
If you have website creation skills, you can make corrections and improvements to your website or blog incredibly quickly and without incurring costs.

What kind of images should be used?
What color should the buttons be?
What kind of content should the layout have?
What about the text and copywriting?
What effects did the launch have, and what should be done next?
You can perform analysis and improvements at an incredible speed.
If you don't have the skills, you'll have to outsource the creation of website/blog user flows and branding to a technician.
If you outsource, naturally, the speed of revisions will be slower.
Things that could be done instantly by yourself might take several days.
In other words, the time it takes to find needs becomes slower.
This means that success will be delayed.
On top of that, outsourcing costs are incurred, leading to unnecessary expenses.
Basically, whether it's a side business or a startup, outsourcing slows down the process.
Even in companies, website production is increasingly being insourced for the same reason.
Normally, companies solve this by hiring people, but in the case of individuals, even without the funds to hire, it's possible to build the same system by learning on your own.
That's why "having website creation skills is advantageous".
By the way, this is an idea based on "Lean Startup," a business launch method considered standard throughout the United States, starting with Silicon Valley.
Initially, create it roughly (it's even better if it has good design).
Repeat analysis and improvements to adapt it to needs.
Then, once a certain number of customers are generated, let's refine it.
Even without skills, success is certainly possible.
However, if you have them, you can shorten the path to success.
You can also advance your marketing more advantageously.
If time and cost permit.
I recommend investing time and money in acquiring website creation skills.
Initially, it's fine to just be able to make simple corrections.
In any case, starting and continuing is important.
In my case, technology significantly boosted the success of my business.
Of course, there are pros and cons, but please give it a try at least once.
