What is a startup? How to grow your business fastest.

What is a startup? How to grow your business fastest.

Many people probably don't know what a startup is.

I feel that the majority of people have either never heard the name, or have heard it but don't really understand its meaning.

Most people who have heard of it probably think this way.

A company that has created a business but has just started.

A company that has just started a business right now.

Many people probably use it in this sense.

However, this understanding is incorrect.

Originally, 'startup' does not mean a business or company that has just been started.

This time, I would like to talk about the original meaning of 'startup'.

A startup is an entrepreneurial style aimed at creating new value in the world and achieving explosive growth.

To put it simply, that's what it means.

To 'create new value in the world.' And to 'achieve rapid growth.'

It is a team formed with that purpose. That is why overwhelming know-how has been accumulated in these two points: 'creating new value in the world' and 'achieving rapid growth.'

The way of being and know-how of a startup are beneficial for the entire company.

If you are starting a business, many people will want to grow as fast as possible, and many people also want to create new value. That is why the startup methodology is attracting attention.

Companies that aim to grow, even slowly, are called small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), regardless of their growth stage.

And those that enter existing fields without creating new value are also, in most cases, SMEs.

In fact, even schools that teach entrepreneurship often teach it incorrectly.

If you have a mentor who uses 'startup' with the nuance of 'just started,' that person is pretending to know, so it's better not to trust them too much.

How do startups achieve the fastest growth?

The know-how for fastest growth cannot be expressed in a single word.

The know-how is scattered throughout other articles I've written, so please do read them.

But one thing is certain: we completely discard conventional ways of thinking and continuously research what truly leads to the most growth from the ground up.

We thoroughly unravel rational methods for fastest growth and risk reduction, without applying the conventional marketing and startup methods that have been discussed in Japanese society until now.

For example, one method is Lean. It involves releasing with the absolute minimum content and repeatedly making corrections and improvements while listening to user feedback.

Rather than spending effort and time building something based solely on existing data or one's own predictions, it's better to actually release it and build it while observing market reactions, as this reduces risk.

Although some say Lean is already old, if you add a little thought, it is still very much applicable.

More precisely, most businesses and services launched today, especially digital ones, are adopting the Lean approach.

Japan still has areas where it hasn't fully adapted to that speed, and it's no exaggeration to say that precisely because of this lack of adaptation, major global services and products are taking over.

In terms of other approaches, there are many.

The idea of forming a successful team by gathering three individuals: a 'hipster' (designer), a 'hacker' (engineer), and a 'hustler' (presentation and fundraising) as the initial members.

A method based on raising investments from investors and venture capitalists to accelerate business development.

Especially regarding fundraising, as it is most effective in increasing business speed, it is thoroughly thought through.

By employing these various methods, growing a business at the fastest pace is also the method of business creation known as a startup.

Startup methodologies are needed by companies of all sizes, from large corporations to small and medium-sized enterprises.

This is not something that has just started recently.

For several years now, the startup mindset, which is not bound by conventional methods, has been needed by companies of all sizes, from small and medium-sized enterprises to large corporations.

Especially for large corporations with slow decision-making, and for small and medium-sized enterprises that still take one or two years to finally release a new service or product, these methodologies and success stories have become a beacon of hope.

Nowadays, when large corporations launch new businesses, services and systems like 'Corporate Accelerators' have emerged, allowing them to include startups in their teams to advance development in order to grow at the fastest pace.

They reportedly pay hundreds of millions to startups to have them come in and develop new businesses internally.

It can be said that this is necessary know-how for Japan, which already struggles to keep up with the world's speed in terms of both quality and productivity.

After all, it is a method to develop and lead to success at the fastest speed. It would be strange if Japanese companies, which have faced numerous problems and have yet to fully improve, did not react to this.

Of course, the same applies to entrepreneurs who will be building businesses from now on.

By understanding and implementing startup methods, it is possible to launch a new business and grow it at the fastest speed, even starting from absolutely zero track record.

There is no doubt that it is necessary to quickly learn and start implementing these methods to succeed in future business creation.

Summary

Many people have misunderstood the meaning of 'startup' until now.

While the majority used it to mean 'just started,' that is not the case; it must first be understood that it is packed with deeper theories, history, and know-how.

It is an entrepreneurial style that thoroughly explores the two keywords: 'creating new value in the world' and 'achieving rapid growth'.

And that startup entrepreneurial methods are becoming common in today's society.

Above all, it means solving problems that could not be fully resolved with previous entrepreneurial styles in Japanese society.

The overwhelming fact that new value standards and methodologies are producing results in today's society.

Understanding startup methods and applying them to future business creation will be one of the optimal breakthroughs in today's society.

First, learn about startups, re-evaluate your understanding, and try incorporating them into the business you are planning or your daily work methods.

By actually trying it, you will understand the methodology and way of thinking more easily.
